To use, lay the smaller inner ring flat on your working surface. Place your embroidery cloth with the design facing up over the hoop, then slide the large outer ring over the inner ring, trapping the cloth in place (you may need to loosen the screw). Tighten the screw a bit, then pull the cloth through the hoop so it is tight and even like a drum.
